Yusho Suga (Zen monk/photographer)
Suga is a Japanese fine art photographer whose practice is informed by his experience as the Zen monk. His work explores the philosophical themes of impermanence and existence through a distinctive long-exposure technique, in which he manually controls the intervals of light capture while integrating intentional blur, without the use of digital compositing.
Rather than freezing a only moment, his photographs reveal the continuous passage of time within the image itself, making visible the invisible flow of time and emotion. Through this approach, Suga invites viewers to contemplate the transient nature that underlies all existence.
